Hydrofluoric Acid 10% (2 x 3 ml)
Hydrofluoric acid gel is used to prepare ceramic surfaces for adhesives. Contents: 2 x 3.5 ml syringes.
Hydrofluoric acid 10% is a fundamental material in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Its main function is to prepare ceramic surfaces to ensure that restorations bond correctly to the tooth.
Main Uses
Etching Porcelain:
It is used to treat the internal surface of ceramic veneers, crowns, and inlays (especially those made of feldspar or lithium disilicate) before cementation. The acid creates microporosity on the surface, similar to creating "invisible holes" where the cement can bond strongly.
In-Office Repairs:
If a patient's ceramic crown fractures, this acid allows the damaged area to be prepared for repair directly in the dental office with composite resins.
Increased Adhesion:
By increasing the surface energy of the porcelain, it ensures a durable bond between the ceramic and the tooth that will not detach over time.
